Tusla.ie are currently looking for Foster parents for a very special boy - Cian.
Cian is a smiling five year old boy who is a much loved brother, and his siblings and parents have regular supported contact with him. He loves bubbles, naming colours and cartoon characters. He can become completely enthralled with new films and experiences.
Cian has had a challenging early life experience, and the behaviours associated with his diagnosis of autism and intellectual disability mean that some foster carers have found his needs overwhelming.
We want to offer Cian the stability and security he needs to be able to engage with the supports which will enable him to meet his full developmental potential. Cian's more challenging behaviours and his love for adult attention and support, mean he will thrive as the only child in the home.
Cian is attending school in Kildare, and we hope to find foster carers who can support him to stay in this school with the friends and teachers he has come to know.
Foster carers with a professional background in disability services would be best placed to provide Cian with the patience and understanding he requires. Tusla will provide an enhanced financial package, along with comprehensive training and support, to enable such carers to provide Cian with the level of care he needs.
Cian's Social Work Team welcomes enquiries from a suitably qualified carers in the Kildare, Dublin or wider Leinster Areas. For further informatiom contact
Catherine Hanlong at 0766955550.
